The world has been awaiting a new update on the Harry Potter series that HBO is developing for Max ever since they confirmed it and dropped the title teaser. The makers have since then maintained radio silence about the major updates, and there are none. But the rumours have been talking a lot about the show, and by far, we have seen a lot of names attached to it. But now, the new rumour takes the stakes even higher as it claims while the Harry Potter series is on track, Max is already spreading its wings beyond and will now simultaneously work on a new series based on The Fantastic Beasts franchise.

Fantastic Beasts Series in the Making?

You read that right. It wasn’t long ago when Jude Law confirmed that The Fantastic Beasts 5 and 6 had to suffer and finally meet their end because the studio wanted to divert its resources toward the Harry Potter series. But now, if the latest reports are to be believed, as per ComicBook, it is being said that the studio is developing The Fantastic Beasts series. The tea ends right here for now, and there are no more details. However, it is quite possible that the makers either go into the past of the franchise or take the story ahead from the films. We are awaiting more details. There is no confirmation on this yet.

Jude Law on Fantastic Beasts 5 & 6

As per Jude Law’s latest comments about what is happening with the future two movies in the Fantastic Beasts franchise, it is clear that the studio is prioritizing the Harry Potter TV series over everything right now, and it shouldn't be surprising. The series is a spinoff of a film franchise that has brought 8 billion dollars to the company with eight movies, and when it will have a spinoff, it will definitely be big.

“I know it’s certainly on hold,” Law told Variety. “My guess would be that, now that they’re doing Harry Potter as a TV show, they’ll probably put their energy into that. I certainly haven’t heard that there’s anything on the horizon.” Jude Law played young Dumbledore in two out of three films in the Fantastic Beasts franchise.

Meanwhile, it was recently when franchise lead Eddie Redmayne also said that the third film might be the last time fans have seen the franchise. “I think they probably have [seen the last of Newt],” Redmayne told ComicBook. “That was a very frank answer, but yeah. And that’s as far as I know. I mean, you’d have to speak to the people at Warner Bros. and J.K. Rowling, but as far as I know, that’s it.”

About Harry Potter TV Series
