Popular cameraman, Dasarathi Shivendra is high on the success of Mangalavaaram, Naa Saami Ranga, and HanuMan. He talks to OTTplay about his career, the massive success of HanuMan, future projects, and working in the industry for the last fifteen years.
Things have been really good post the release of HanuMan with good opportunities coming my way. Some significant offers are being discussed and I look forward to working on these big films for the growth of my career.
HanuMan has received solid feedback. I have never received such applause for any of my films to date in my 15-year-old career. How the audience is talking about the exciting visuals and VFX has made me very happy and I feel my hard work has paid off.
Working with director Prashanth Varma, whom I worked with on Rajasekhar's Kalki, was an enriching experience. The film's unique backdrop and visual effects posed me a lot of challenges. But with a proper plan with Prasanth, we neatly executed the film and the result is there for us all to see.
The response to Mangalavaaram was also very satisfying. I received multiple calls within the first few days. The shooting of Mangalavaram involved a lot of detailing, especially for scenes involving VFX. Director Ajay Bhupathi gave me a lot of creative freedom and this helped me a lot.

My career began 15 years ago. I started with Mantra and worked on projects like Solo, Jayeebhava, Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham, Siddu From Srikakulam, and Kalki. Working on these films gave me a chance to work with the best of the directors and banners in Telugu cinema. I learned a lot working on these films.
Not many know but It takes a lot of time to establish yourself in the industry, and I had to go through the same. To overcome these challenges, I showed a lot of patience and worked closely with the team waiting for my chance, and finally got it.
I am doing a film with Ganga Entertainments. The film is set against the backdrop of Sivathathvam. Ashwin Babu is playing the main lead. The film is produced by Maheshwara Reddy and he is going all out with the film. Also, Jai Hanuman is in the scripting stages and it will take time before it will go on floors.
