Yash Puri, who made a mark with his performances in ZEE5’s web film Alanti Sitralu, Cheppalani Undhi, and the recently released epic drama Shaakuntalam is gearing up for the release of another film Happy Ending. This light-hearted coming-of-age tale film directed by Kowshik Bheemidi is all set to release on February 2, 2024. Yash Puri speaks about the film, his role, and his career in Telugu cinema.
About bagging a crazy role in Happy Ending?
I shot a demo and it played a crucial role in convincing the producers. The movie features a predominantly new cast and crew, and I should thank producer Anil, who backed me throughout the making of this film. Very soon, I will team up with the same banner but for now, I am super excited about Happy Ending and its response.
What is this 'Happy Ending' all about?
Happy Ending explores the concept of a curse from mythology, depicting how it would impact a modern-day young man. The film aims to showcase the entertaining efforts of the protagonist to face the curse. Not a single minute of the film carries a message; it's all about fun and entertainment.
Tell us about your role in the film?
The protagonist's character, Harsha, embodies the struggles of a young man who keeps his feelings inside due to a curse. Despite the curse being a driving force in the plot, the film's real essence lies in the human emotion depicted in the story. The protagonist expresses his love poetically rather than getting physical, adding a layer of depth to the narrative.
Why should we watch Happy Ending?
The emotional connection with the audience is the real strength of the story. The film offers a combination of humor, songs, and an engaging storyline with a strong emotional core. All those who have seen the film have been positive, contributing to our belief in the film's success. I hope the audience likes the film too.
What are the highlights of Happy Ending?
Despite the challenges faced by the character, the movie maintains a lighthearted and entertaining tone. The characters portrayed by Jhansi and Ajay Ghosh will be presented in a new light. Additionally, the film features notable contributions from various departments such as editing, music, and cinematography. The last 15 minutes of the movie, promise an emotional and psychological drive.

I am super happy with my producers. They have backed my talent and have created a good buzz with interesting promotional content. Yogesh Kumar, Sanjay Reddy, and Anil Pallala are bankrolling the film under Hamstech Films and Silly Monks Studios and I wish them all the best.
Future plans in Telugu cinema?
My goal is to become a commercial hero, I recognize the importance of establishing myself before venturing into strictly commercial styles. I have envisioned a path toward achieving his goals and I hope that the audience will surely encourage me in whatever I do.
