Paramvir Cheema plays the role of Kaala in Rohit Jugraj's web series, Chamak. In an exclusive chat with OTTplay, the actor spoke about his character in the show.

Paramvir Cheema is gearing up for the release of his web show, Chamak. He plays a pivotal role in the series, which is helmed by Rohit Jugraj. Ahead of the show's release on SonyLIV, OTTplay interacted with Paramvir. The actor was asked to talk about the qualities of his character Kaala that he wants to imbibe in himself. To this, Paramvir spoke about his love for his role.

In an exclusive conversation with OTTplay, Paramvir Cheema revealed how much he adores his character in Chamak.
"Kaala is in! I never want to let him go. I know I have to (let him go) but I never want to. I am in love with this guy. I used to tell Rohit sir, 'If I was a girl, I would want a boyfriend like him'. Kaala comes with an entourage. The journey he has had, the confidence, the music, and his aggression."
In the same conversation, filmmaker Rohit Jugraj spoke about the reach of Punjabi music. While he did shed light on the positive side of it, the director also mentioned that there's a lot of 'crime' involved in it. And for him, it was tough to make decision to tell this story through his show, Chamak.

What is Chamak all about?
For those who are unaware, Chamak is the story of an aspiring rapper, Kaala, who goes to Punjab from Canada. And according to the official synopsis of the series, "he unravels the death of Taara Singh - the legendary singer who was shot dead in the midst of a packed performance."
Apart from Paramvir, the web show features Isha Talwar, Mohit Malik, Mukesh Chhabra, Akasa Singh, Gippy Grewal, Suvinder Vicky, and others. There are about 14 artists in the star cast and the musical thriller comprises 28 songs. It will stream on the OTT platform from December 7.
