Mukesh Chhabra is one of the finest casting directors of the Indian film fraternity. Apart from casting for movies and web shows, Mukesh has been a part of a few acting projects. Currently, he is gearing up for the release of his web series, Chamak, which will stream on SonyLIV. Ahead of the release, OTTplay exclusively interacted with Mukesh, who spoke about dealing with fame.

Mukesh Chhabra on handling fame

When Mukesh Chhabra was asked about how he handles media glare and the scrutiny that comes along with being a public figure, he told OTTplay, "Honestly, most of us have come to this city (Mumbai) for work. Jiss Chamak (fame/ recognition) ke liye hum aaye vo mil jaaye toh it is good. How to handle it while keeping your honesty and purity intact, is very challenging. Kabhi aap uss lehar mein beh bhi sakte hain (you can get carried away with it)."

The casting director and actor further mentioned, "The way you deal with it, kitne sincerity and honesty se, is also an art. Because you are getting the thing that you've come for — you have to love and respect that as well. But kitna pyaar karna chahiye aur kitna aapka dimaag shaant rakhna chahiye, that is a challenge."

Mukesh Chhabra — It is important how you handle yourself

Continuing the conversation, Mukesh added, "It is possible that aapka dimaag bohot jaldi kharab ho sakta hai in this city. You can get lost in that chamak-dhamak. It is important how you handle yourself because it is also part of your job and profession."

The web series, Chamak, has been directed by Rohit Jugraj. Besides Mukesh, the show stars Paramvir Cheema, Isha Talwar, Suvinder Vicky, Gippy Grewal, Akasa Singh, Mohit Malik, and others.
