Appudo Ippudo Eppudo is Nikhil Siddhartha's latest film, but not many were even aware of its release. The film was significant as it marked the Telugu debut of popular Kannada actress Rukmini Vasanth. Released on November 8, 2024, the romantic crime drama ended up as a massive disaster at the box office. Shockingly, Appudo Ippudo Eppudo was pulled from theaters within just two days of its release.
As we at OTTplay previously reported, Amazon Prime Video acquired the digital rights to the film for a significant price and planned to stream it soon. Now, without prior announcement, Appudo Ippudo Eppudo has begun streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The film has hit OTT platforms within three weeks of its theatrical release, but surprisingly, many are still unaware that it is available for streaming.
Nikhil played the lead role, delivering a performance that was just passable. However, Rukmini Vasanth seemed out of place in the film’s setup and left audiences disappointed with her performance. Unfortunately, Appudo Ippudo Eppudo is not the ideal project she would have hoped to debut in Telugu cinema.
Amazon reportedly spent a substantial amount on securing the film's early OTT release. Meanwhile, Nikhil, who is currently riding high in his career with two big projects—Swayambhu and another major production by Ram Charan—distanced himself from the film entirely and did not promote it.
Directed by Sudheer Varma, this is the director's fourth consecutive flop. Once considered a reliable filmmaker, his recent track record has been disappointing. The poorly executed narrative of Appudo Ippudo Eppudo left audiences stunned for all the wrong reasons.
It remains to be seen if the film will gain any traction on OTT platforms in the coming days. Stay tuned for more updates on Appudo Ippudo Eppudo and other film news.
