Model-turned-actor Rohman Shawl made his debut in Tamil cinema with Amaran. The Sivakarthikeyan-led film featured Rohman as the antagonist Asif Wani. Over a month after its theatrical release, Amaran recently dropped on Netflix (December 5). Days after his film's digital release, OTTplay exclusively interviewed Rohman. The actor shared his experience of working with Sivakarthikeyan and also praised Sai Pallavi.
Although Rohman Shawl didn't have any scenes with Sai Pallavi in Amaran, the actor hoped to work with her in the future. Praising the actress, Rohman said, "She is a remarkable actress. When I saw her on screen, I just knew that she killed it. I remember when her teaser came out, the introduction of her character, I was like, 'Oh My God! Because of this woman, they are going to hate my character more'. So that's the power of that actor."
He further recalled doing workshops with Sivakarthikeyan. Rohman told OTTplay that he has known the actor for a long time now. "We did the workshops together. And there I could see the simple man entering without any fuss. The big star that he is, he doesn't carry that around. That's what makes him a bigger star," shared Shawl.
Rohman also revealed how he couldn't recognize Sivakarthikeyan on the set. It's because the actor worked hard on his look and character for Amaran.
"I remember watching him for the first time in the workshop and the first time on shoot. I couldn't recognize him. I was doing my shot and I could see somebody calling my name. And I was like, 'Who's this guy dressed in an army outfit?' So I went closer and the more closer I got, I realized, oh, that's Siva sir. That's what I told him. I couldn't recognize you when you called me out. And that's how hard he's worked for the film. It's truly been an inspiration to work with these stars," he said.
