Aanand L Rai shares update on Dhanush's Tere Ishk Mein: 'By next year-end, the film...' | Exclusive

After Raanjhanaa and Atrangi Re, director Aanand L Rai joined hands with Dhanush for a third film. The movie, titled Tere Ishk Mein, was officially announced in 2023. After its title announcement, fans were looking forward to their reunion. The latest development on Tere Ishk Mein is that filmmaker Aanand is ready to go on floors with the film. In an exclusive interview with OTTplay, Rai confirmed the film's release by next year and shared exciting details about the project.

Aanand L Rai on Tere Ishk Mein's release

Speaking with us, Aanand L Rai shared an update about Tere Ishk Mein that will leave Dhanush's fans excited. The filmmaker told OTTplay, "I am going on floors by the year-end, and (by) next year-end, the film will be there." The director, who first collaborated with Dhanush on Raanjhanaa, also reflected on his equation with the actor.

Aanand revealed how his equation has evolved with Dhanush over the years. "It's a very beautiful relationship. It started as (an equation of) a director and an actor. By the time I reached Atrangi Re, it was not a director and actor equation, it was like an elder brother-younger brother or you can say a father-son (equation)," he added.

And now, as he's looking forward to his reunion with Dhanush, Aanand has anticipated how their bond will evolve further. "Now, when I am going on floors with him (for Tere Ishk Mein), I have a feeling that how it happens when a son grows, we will have our own conflicts. We will have a good time like how a father and son have. I am looking forward to spending those few months with him. Otherwise, I don't get to see him a lot. He is a busy actor," he stated. Aanand further said that he will be there with Dhanush for '4 to 5 months' for the film's shoot and they intend to tell a 'beautiful' story.

On similarity with Raanjhanaa

Divulging more details about Tere Ishk Mein, Aanand revealed it's a different story but has one similarity with Raanjhanaa. "The only similarity you can see between these two worlds is that it is full of love, love to a level where... jisko hum Hindi mein bolte hai ki 'jalta hua romance'. It is quite rageful. With an actor like Dhanush, there's no limit on going on intense. I am really looking forward to telling a hard-core love story," he added. 

Rai quipped that he intends to create something 'extraordinary' with Dhanush on this project. On a parting note, when Rai was asked about Tere Ishk Mein's leading lady, the director signed off by saying, "I have (names) in mind right now but I will not disclose it now; but very soon."
