Meghna Gulzar's spy-thriller Raazi was headlined by Alia Bhatt while Vicky Kaushal played a pivotal role in the film. Vicky was seen as Iqbal Syed, who is married to Alia's character Sehmat Khan. The 2018 film was based on Harinder Sikka's 2008 novel Calling Sehmat. It is a true story of a RAW agent, who upon her father's request, gets married into a family of military officers in Pakistan. Directed by Shoojit Sircar, the film was based on freedom fighter Udham Singh, Udham Singh, who assassinated Michael O'Dwyer in London to avenge the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar. The movie opened to a positive response upon its OTT release on the platform.
