Marvel Studios is making sure that they prove the naysayers wrong and give the world a sneak peek into what they are cooking according to their new strategy where the studio now focuses on quality over quantity. There have been multiple massive announcements this week coming from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and we are still busy processing them. While we have spoken at length about Deadpool & Wolverine and that kick-ass first look teaser of the same. The next announcement about The Fantastic Four cast is still very much fresh for us. The bosses at the studio woke up and chose to shock us all.
Marvel announced the confirmed cast of The Fantastic Four movie with a changed title, a new logo, and a release date that is pushed by two months in 2025. The cast of Fantastic Four Reboot is Pedro Pascal who will be seen playing Reed Richards, joined by Vanessa Kirby playing Sue Storm, Sue’s brother Johnny Storm aka Human Torch will be played by Joseph Quinn, and the most complex of them all, The Thing, will be played by Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The announcement took all of us by storm, but with it also came a very interesting post wishing us a Happy Valentine’s day.
Today as the anticipation of that announcement and poster has sunk in well in us, we decided to dissect the first poster of The Fantastic Four which also has the OG cast sketched on it in a very period set up The poster has a whole lot hidden in it apart from the four leads and that is most exciting part about the same. Below are the five major reveals in the poster that are not meeting the eye instantly, but are there to give us a tease about what’s next to come.
One thing that the poster has confirmed that The Fantastic Four will stick to the 60s vibe as the comics and will have Marvel’s first family in their root decades as all the comics points towards the 60s for them. The post has a very period vibe to it and that is enough to confirm that there will be enough about the era. However it is not confirmed that the movie will be set in that decade or just have the feel of it. But The Thing can be seen reading an old issue of the LIFE magazine and that can mean they are still close to the 1960s.
The poster also confirms that the superheroes will be slightly on the older side as compared to all the earlier movies about them. Looking at the casting as Pedro Pascal as 48, Ebon Moss-Bachrach is 46, Joseph Quinn is 30, and Vanessa Kirby 35, one can say that they have all aged in the new reboot. However, Kevin Feige has also said that this is not another origin story for the team which means they could pretty much be well established team of superheroes from the very beginning in their MCU reboot.
There have already been rumours that The Fantastic Four will have a whole lot of family drama involved and some even said that the studio is looking forward to welcome Reed Richards and Sue Storm’s children in the MCU with the reboot. The poster has very happy family vibe to it and one can sense that on the very first glance as they are together in a home.
Everybody by this point knows that the family of The Fantastic Four was actually a team of astronauts who were on a mission with Doctor Victor Von Doom in the space where they were exposed to cosmic radiation that led to mutagenic change in their bodies. We never saw them pursue the astronaut career post that on the big screen. Turns out this reboot will have them back in the world of space science as we can see Ben Grimm’s portrait in the astronaut suit. Will they be yet again foraying into space to get their powers, or this is just a random Easter egg is a mystery.
The costumes for The Fantastic Four will be the talk of the town for one simple reason. Every single member has a different body situation due to the cosmic radiation. So while their uniform needs to have the same look, there are different demands. In the new poster, The Thing and Johnny Storm are in their casuals, but Reed Richards and Sue Storm are dressed in the costume. A very simple blue costume with simple lines and highlights 4 logo is a fresh breeze. Nothing complex but very catchy.
Humanoid Experimental Robot, B-type, Integrated Electronics, H.E.R.B.I.E. is a robot actually created by Reed Richards to find Galactus in the cosmos. But soon enough in the comics he becomes the sidekick to Reed and Sue’s son Franklin. This is the first time a live action adaption of the movie will have H.E.R.B.I.E. in it and this also hints at the possibility that Franklin will also make his way to the reboot. It just go exciting.
