Cillian Murphy is all over the space, and we are not complaining at all. His successful film Oppenheimer created a massive buzz last year and is now back at it during the award season, taking home multiple trophies from every possible gala night. But amid the buzz that the Christopher Nolan Magnum Opus has created, there is another Magnum Opus that is about to bloom yet again after a super successful first run. Peaky Blinders is returning for multiple spin-offs, and that in itself is a big win for the IP that has proved its potential more than once, and fans who have been ready and craving the content for ages now.
If you are uninitiated, starring Cillian Murphy in the center alongside Annabelle Wallis, Ian Peck, Helen McCrory, Paul Anderson with Ned Dennehy, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Sam Neill, Sophie Rundle, Tony Pitts, and Joe Cole, Peaky Blinders is created by Steven Knight. The show comprises of 6 seasons and is streaming on Netflix in India. However, it was announced that it will be branched out into spin-offs at the end of season 6. While there is a feature film in the making based on the period crime drama, there are also two shows that are being developed for streaming. So today let’s take a look at all three spin-offs of the show that are in the making. Read on.
The gender politics of Peaky Blinders has always been interesting, and Polly at the center of it all is the cherry on top. A woman rising so high in the crime scene is a rare sight for the era the show is set in. But imagine what it must have been to be a female counterpart in a world of men when she started out. Polly's prequel plot is not out yet, but the biggest possibility is that it will explore her young days. What makes it more likely is the fact that she saw her end in the sixth season of the show.
After the makers announced the feature film, they took the world by storm when they announced a spin-off show. The new show will be set in Boston and will have the series take a massive time jump from the events of the six seasons of the main show. This means the future will come in for Peaky Blinders with the Boston Spin-off. There are no more details about the show out as of yet.
The first thing to be announced was the Peaky Blinders movie after season 6 ended. Steven King has been talking about this one for a very long time, and now it is close to becoming real. The creator recently confirmed he is in the final leg of scripting and expects to go on floors in mid-2024. The feature film will be a sort of season 7 for the show where the makers will tie all the loose ends.
