8 A.M. Metro is Raj Rachakonda's (writer/director) film, which was released theatrically in May 2023. Gulshan Devaiah and Saiyami Kher play the lead roles in the film. The light-hearted drama follows the peculiar journey of two strangers who meet by chance in the metro, form an improbable bond, and ultimately learn more about themselves and one another.

Iravati, a 29-year-old housewife from Nanded, has her ordinary life upended when she must travel to Hyderabad to care for her bedridden pregnant sister. She finds comfort in the companionship of Preetam, a banker with more going on than meets the eye, while she battles recurrent panic episodes. The two go on numerous adventures together.

Aankh Micholi

Umesh Shukla directed Aankh Micholi, a comedy film, released ahead of the Diwali 2023 weekend in November. Paresh Rawal, Mrunal Thakur, and Abhimanyu Dassani play the main roles, and the story follows a dysfunctional family. Critics were not kind to the film when it came out, and at the box office, it bombed.

Farrey

Soumendra Padhi directed the heist thriller Farrey, which was released in November 2023. In addition to Alizeh Agnihotri, the cast also includes Ronit Roy, Sahil Mehta, Juhi Babbar, and Shilpa Shukla. This is the official sequel to Bad Genius, a 2017 Thai film. Farrey had its world premiere at the 54th India International Film Festival.

In the film, Niyati, a brilliant orphan who lives with her warden in a Delhi orphanage, receives a full scholarship to a prestigious school after she finishes first in her 10th grade board examinations. She finds herself entangled in a cheating ring where the stakes are high and the rewards are even higher as her wealthy pals entice her to assist them in creating complex exam cheating procedures. However, she risks losing a lot more than she wins.

Ganapath

Vikas Bahl wrote and directed the post-apocalyptic dystopian action comedy Ganapath: A Hero is Born. It features Tiger Shroff in a dual role, along with Kriti Sanon and Amitabh Bachchan (in a cameo). Reports indicate that Ganapath's budget is ₹200 crore. Critical reception was negative upon the film's October 20, 2023, theatrical premiere. Coming out as a bomb at the box office, it made ₹13.38 crore.

The Kerala Story

Sudipto Sen and Vipul Amrutlal Shah created The Kerala Story, a drama film. Siddhi Idnani, Sonia Balani, Yogita Bihani, and Adah Sharma play the lead roles in the film. The plot progresses due to the coercion of a group of Malayali women into becoming Muslims and joining the Islamic State. The film erroneously asserts that the Islamic State has recruited hundreds of Hindu women from Kerala and converted them to Islam; it is based on the Hindutva conspiracy theory of "love jihad" and is marketed as a factual story.

On May 5, 2023, The Kerala Story was released, and it became the fifth highest-grossing Hindi film of 2023 with a global gross of ₹303.97 crore. In its campaign for the Karnataka assembly election, the incumbent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) extensively supported the film. On the other hand, critics gave it very bad reviews, calling it Islamophobic propaganda. The film has been the target of long-running lawsuits and demonstrations, mostly in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and West Bengal.

Tiger 3

Yash Raj Films produces Tiger 3, an action thriller film directed by Maneesh Sharma and featuring Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Emraan Hashmi. The film features Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Emraan Hashmi. Tiger 3 takes place after the events of Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), War (2019), and Pathaan (2023) in the YRF Spy Universe, and it is the fifth instalment in the series. Tiger and Zoya embark on a perilous mission in the film to clear their names after being falsely accused of betrayal.

After its release on November 12, 2023, Tiger 3 divided reviewers. Some praised the action scenes, score, and cast performances (especially Katrina and Emraan), while others panned the film for its slow pace and lacklustre premise. With a global gross of ₹466.63 crore, the film surpassed all but five Hindi films in 2023 and ranked seventh among Indian films in the same year.

Yaariyan 2

Directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, Yaariyan 2 is a romantic drama about coming of age. Along with Divya Khosla Kumar, Yash Dasgupta, Pearl V. Puri, Meezaan Jafri, Bhagyashri Borse, and Warina Hussain, it is a standalone sequel to Yaariyan (2014). Four actors—Yash Dasgupta, Puri, Rajan, and Bose—make their debut in Hindi cinema with this film. This film is a reimagining of Anjali Menon's 2014 Malayalam flick, Bangalore Days.

In the film, Mumbai is the setting for the adventures, aspirations, and self-discovery of three cousins, Laadli, Bajrang, and Shikhar. Shikhar faces a ban from bike racing, Laadli's marriage to Abhay is in jeopardy, and Bajju experiences a broken heart. Love, friendship, and the power of human connections to change lives are central themes in Yaariyan 2.

Zara Hatke Zara Bachke

Laxman Utekar wrote and directed the romantic comedy Zara Hatke Zara Bachke. The plot follows a married couple from a small town who are hoping to buy a house of their own and live separately. Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan are the leads in the film. The film was released on June 2, 2023, and critics had conflicting reactions. Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, made on a budget of just ₹40 crore, shocked everyone by becoming an unexpected hit and earning ₹115.89 crore globally.

Zwigato

Zwigato is a drama film directed by Nandita Das, depicting a narrative of how life is unforgiving. The film has Kapil Sharma and Shahana Goswami in leading roles, and the 2022 Toronto Worldwide Film Celebration was the film's world premiere. On March 17, 2023, the film debuted in theatres.

Zwigato follows Manas, a former factory floor manager, through his life in modern-day Bhubaneswar. Taking a job as a food delivery rider after losing his job forces him to deal with his phone's app and the world of ratings and rewards. His mother is sick, and he has a wife and two children to support. He has a hard time making ends meet. At the same time, Pratima, who stays at home to take care of their children, starts looking into other jobs to supplement their income, such as massage for wealthy women or mall cleaner. There are two sides to the coin: the thrill of independence and the terror of these new experiences.
