The gifted actor Bhumi Pednekar is ready to dazzle the screens once more with a powerful performance. Netflix's upcoming crime drama Bhakshak stars the actor in the lead role. The film, which is directed by Pulkit, follows Vaishali Singh, an investigative journalist, as she sets out to uncover a prominent man who is abusing girls from an orphanage with the help of politicians.

The movie's makers assert that it is based on actual occurrences. “Our aim was to shed light on the harsh realities of society and spark conversations that lead to meaningful change. I’m looking forward to more people joining this important dialogue.” the director said in a statement regarding the film's serious topic.

The movie is a production of Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment.

Plot

The thriller-drama film Bhakshak tells the story of a journalist (played by Bhumi Pednekar) who is attempting to expose the truth about some local gangsters who are smuggling girls.

A glimpse of Vaishali's fight for justice for the young girls can be seen in the trailer. In her conflict with actor Aditya Srivastava's portrayal of Bansi Sahu, she gets backing from Sanjay Mishra. The story takes place in Bihar, as indicated by Bhumi's sincere attempt at portraying Vaishali. The makers have made an effort to bring up the subject of why some choose to remain silent in the face of horrific crimes against women occurring nearby.
