With each passing year, Telugu cinema continues to dominate the movie business, as some big films are being made one after the other. The year 2023 has some great hits to its credit. Let's take a look at the top grossers in the last decade in Telugu cinema.
2023: Salaar
Salaar is all set to become the top-grosser in Telugu cinema as it is nearing the Rs 100 crore mark in Telugu states. In its final run, the Prabhas starrer will easily cross the collections of Waltair Veerayya, which made close to Rs 125 crore. While Prashanth Neel has directed this film, it is produced by Hombale Films.
2022: RRR
RRR is one film that everyone will remember, as it won the Oscar for Best Song of the Year. SS Rajamouli's period drama made close to Rs 210 crore in Telugu states. Jr NTR and Ram Charan played the main leads in this film, which was the biggest hit of 2022.
2021: Pushpa
Pushpa skyrocketed Allu Arjun's fame to the next level. The Sukumar directorial made Rs 89 crore in Telugu states and was the highest-grossing Telugu film in 2021. Allu Arjun's transformation was a massive success and the wait is on for Pushpa 2.

2020: Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo
Allu Arjun became a star to watch out for with the success of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. The songs in the film were a massive success across the country and they made the actor a household name. Directed by Trivikram Srinivas, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo made Rs 60 crore in Telugu states, making it the biggest hit of 2020.
2019: Saaho
Saaho was one of the biggest films of Prabhas's career. Mounted on a massive scale, the action drama failed to click at the box office as its theatricals were sold at Rs 125 crore in Telugu. As the craze for Prabhas was at an all-time high, Saaho managed to make Rs 81 crore, becoming the biggest film of 2019.
2018: Rangasthalam
Rangasthalam proved the versatility of Ram Charan as an actor. The village drama directed by Sukumar made Rs 120 crore in Telugu states, becoming the biggest hit of 2018. Samantha played the female lead and DSP scored the music.
2017: Baahubali 2
Because of Baahubali 2, Prabhas had fans across the country. Directed by SS Rajamouli, this sequel to Baahubali made Rs 197 crore in Telugu states. It created a new record in Tollywood in 2017.
2016: Janatha Garage
Janatha Garage is one of Jr NTR's biggest hits and was directed by Koratala Siva. The action drama, also featuring Mohan Lal in a key role, made Rs 57 crore in Telugu states and was the biggest hit of 2016. DSP scored the music and Samantha was the heroine.
2015: Baahubali
SS Rajamouli's Baahubali took Telugu cinema to the international level. It was the first Telugu film to cross the coveted Rs 100 crore mark. The Prabhas-starrer made Rs 114 crore and became the biggest hit of 2015.
2014: Race Gurram
With Race Guraam, Allu Arjun proved that he can excel at comedy as well. The Surender Reddy directorial was a smash hit at the box office and made Rs 45 crore in Telugu states. Shruthi Haasan was the female lead and Thaman scored the music for this film.
