Match 17 of the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024 between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) saw Shreyanka Patil turn the tide in her team's favour as she took four crucial wickets towards the end, restricting DC to 181 runs.

The Arun Jaitley Stadium witnessed DC openers Meg Lanning (29) and Shafali Verma (23) getting off to a good start, followed by Jemimah Rodrigues (58) and Alice Capsey (48) scoring a flurry of runs. While it seemed like the score could have been higher, Shreyanka had other plans.

She first dismissed Meg Lanning soon after the strategic timeout, she later sent back Jemimah Rodrigues, Alice Capsey, and Jess Jonassen (1). This would have pleased RCB as DC appeared to be heading towards surpassing the 200-run mark at one point.

DC finished with 181 for 5 in 20 overs. The other wicket was taken by Asha Sobhana who sent back Shafali Verma posted 54 runs in 6 overs.

This is a must-win match for RCB if they plan to make it to the Playoffs. Delhi Capitals aim to recover from their narrow 1-run loss against UP Warriorz (UPW) in their previous fixture, while RCB seeks redemption after their defeat against Gujarat Giants (GG).

The victory for UPW on Saturday has left a slim chance open for RCB to pursue the top position, but it has also placed them in a tricky situation regarding a playoff berth. This game will be crucial in determining which team will join Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Playoffs.
