The Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024 Eliminator between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) witnessed batters Smriti Mandhana and Sophie Devine getting off to a quick start but departing soon after. However, their dismissals triggered a batting collapse for RCB. The only batter who held the fort for RCB was Ellyse Perry, who smashed her second half-century of the WPL 2024.

Her inning, consisting of 8 fours and 1 maximum has taken her side across the three-figure mark. However, the burning question now is whether the score of 135 is a respectable total. Opting to bat first, RCB has seen five wickets fall in quick succession. Smriti Mandhana (10), Sophie Devine (10), Disha Kasat (0), Richa Ghosh (14), and Sophie Molineux (11) all departed after making promising starts.

Fans started trending Perry's name on social media, particularly X (formerly known as Twitter) to praise the all-rounder for her batting performance.

With the scoreboard showing a less-than-ideal total, Perry had launched her attack, already reaching 50 runs herself. She had Georgia Wareham (18*) at the crease to assist her, with RCB's score standing at 126 for 5 in 19 overs. However, at the time of writing this article, Perry departed for 66 runs off 50 balls, courtesy of Saika Ishaque's bowling.

Regarding the clash, at the toss, MI made one change, bringing in Yastika Bhatia in place of Priyanka Bala. Bhatia, who missed Mumbai's last league game due to illness, is reportedly back in action.
