According to BCCI's report, Virat Kohli formally requested permission to withdraw from the first two Tests of the series against England

According to the BCCI's report, Kohli formally requested permission from the Board of Control for Cricket in India to withdraw from the initial two Tests of the forthcoming IDFC First Bank Test series against England. The report further stated that Kohli communicated with skipper Rohit Sharma, the team management, and the selectors, expressing that, "while representing the country has always been his top priority, certain personal situations demand his presence and undivided attention."

According to some accounts, a convoy believed to be carrying Virat Kohli was observed speeding through the streets of Ayodhya, hinting at his potential attendance at the Ram Mandir inauguration. A Jagran report indicated that Kohli departed from the Indian camp following his practice session on January 21 to participate in the ceremony.
Rumors had also circulated suggesting that the former India skipper took a break from the first two Test matches due to his mother Saroj Kohli's illness. A Facebook user wrote, "Heard Virat's mother is suffering from liver issues and is serious. My strong prayers for his mother's good health. Parents getting ill is the worst pain you will ever feel. Really tough times for Kohli. Prayers with his mother."
However, the cricketer's brother Vikas addressed the false rumors circulating on the internet. Vikas clarified on his official Instagram handle that their mother is "absolutely fit and fine." He urged everyone to refrain from spreading unverified news.
Several reports surfaced stating that Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli are expecting their second child after Vamika. While the couple has not confirmed the news, netizens have speculated that Anushka's possible pregnancy could be the reason for Virat taking a break.
