After missing out on the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023, the host nation West Indies staged a dominant victory in the 1st ODI of the three-match series against England.

The Windies astonished the 2019 ODI World champions with Shai Hope's century and Romario Shepherd's explosive performance, securing a four-wicket win. The successful pursuit of 326 runs marked West Indies' second-highest chase in ODI history.

As for England, to maintain their chances, they will be striving to bounce back after a challenging outing for some of their bowlers, notably Sam Curran, in the first ODI.
