With Kohli and Jadeja steering the innings, Team India regained control of the game and finished the day on a high note posting 288/4.
Three sessions of play were done - two won comfortably by India and one by West Indies. On Day 1 of the 2nd Test, Team India lost the toss and was asked to bat first. Despite the early pressure, the Indian batter showed resilience and put on a strong opening partnership that favoured the Men in Blue. Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal's impressive half-centuries marked a promising 1st session for the team.

However, Windies made a remarkable comeback during the 2nd session, snatching four quick wickets that included the dismissals of Jaiswal (57), Sharma (80), Shubman Gill (10), and Ajinkya Rahane (8). This resurgence by the Windies bowlers momentarily tilted the game in their favour.
Yet, the 3rd session saw a dramatic shift in momentum as Virat Kohli, displaying his class and determination, remained unbeaten on 87 runs. Kohli found an able ally in Ravindra Jadeja, who confidently contributed 36 runs to the partnership. Together, they defied the Windies' bowling attack and orchestrated a remarkable comeback for India.
