Shubman Gill achieved his fifty in 37 balls, marking his second consecutive half-century, while captain Rohit Sharma reached his half-century in 42 balls.

Following their impressive performance, cricket enthusiasts flooded X (formerly known as Twitter) with memes about the Pakistani bowlers, their subpar fielding, and India's exceptional start.

While both Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill departed, they have laid a strong foundation for the Indian team. Rohit departed for 56 while Gill was sent back for 58.

In the group stage of the Asia Cup 2023, the India vs. Pakistan clash was disrupted by rain. Pakistan, led by Babar Azam, had previously secured a convincing 7-wicket victory over Bangladesh in their initial Super 4 match.

Meanwhile, India came into this contest with confidence, having delivered a resounding 10-wicket victory over Nepal in their previous match.
