Renowned spinner and cricket legend, Bishan Singh Bedi, who represented India in 67 Test matches from 1967 to 1979 and claimed 266 wickets, passed away at the age of 77 on Monday. Bedi also participated in 10 One-Day Internationals, securing seven wickets during his international career.

After the news of his passing emerged, cricket fans expressed their condolences to his family through social media.

Bedi, alongside Erapalli Prasanna, BS Chandrasekhar, and S. Venkataraghavan, played a pivotal role in transforming India's spin bowling history.

He notably contributed to India's first ODI victory by limiting East Africa to 120 runs in a 1975 World Cup match with his economical bowling figures of 12-8-6-1.

Born in Amritsar, Bedi was a prominent figure for Delhi on the domestic cricket circuit and remains the top wicket-taker among Indian players in First-Class cricket, amassing 1,560 wickets in 370 matches.
