De Minaur got handed a second defeat when Daniil Medvedev found his footing, after a disastrous start to the tournament against Fritz. Medvedev won 6-2 6-4.

Carlos Alcaraz, who was stunned by Casper Ruud in his first match and has been struggling with his health, shook it off to register his first victory in the event, trouncing Andrey Rublev in straight sets. This is Rublev’s second defeat, having lost to Alexander Zverev earlier. Zverev’s second match is slated at 1 am on November 14 against Ruud.
