While MI is back to winning ways defeating Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), CSK would be looking to carry on with the momentum they gained by defeating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
Ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 clash between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at Wankhede Stadium on Sunday evening, fans were taken down a nostalgic route as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared pictures of MS Dhoni along with the World Cup trophy.
Having visited the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai, photos were clicked of Dhoni holding the 2011 World Cup trophy with the caption reading, "MS Dhoni-World Cup Trophy...Made for each other".

Seeing the pictures got fans emotional, especially after the Indian cricket team recently lost the final in the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023 and many are hopeful the Men in Blue will be able to lift the ICC Men's T20I World Cup 2024 in West Indies and the USA.
While MI is back to winning ways, CSK would be looking to carry on with the momentum they gained by defeating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their previous encounter. This clash between the heavyweights will also see Dhoni back at the Wankhede Stadium, but this time not as a captain.
Ahead of the 17th edition, Dhoni stepped down from CSK captaincy and handed it over to the young lad Ruturaj Gaikwad. Ravindra Jadeja had earlier tried and failed to replace Dhoni as the CSK captain in 2022. Despite the change in captaincy, the support from fans and team management has been immense.
On the other hand, MI's new skipper Hardik Pandya was welcomed by boos and jeers from fans after he replaced Rohit Sharma as the captain. Amidst all the hate, Mumbai lost four games on the trot but has regained momentum by winning two back-to-back games.
