The Sri Lankan meteorological department has issued a crucial forecast ahead of this epic cricket battle. The Sri Lanka Meteorological Department's director-general, Athula Karunanayake, conveyed that the weather on the day of the much-awaited India vs Pakistan clash is expected to be favourable for cricket.

He informed PTI TV that the predictions indicate heavy rains will diminish after September 9, allowing the IND vs PAK match to proceed as planned.

He explained, “During this time of the year, which is the end of the southwest monsoon period, the southwestern part of Sri Lanka receives more rainfall. In the last two weeks, we witnessed more rain in the western province. The western province could receive a bit of rain, but after September 9, it would be sunny and cloudy but with very little rain".

The weather expert also mentioned that a few light showers might occur in the coming days, but the monsoon is expected to fully subside by September 17, the day of the Asia Cup 2023 final.

According to the current schedule, barring any rain-related disruptions, the India vs Pakistan Super 4 clash will proceed as planned on September 10, as per the Asia Cup 2023 fixtures.
