While the clash between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) was filled with drama and runs at the Wankhede Stadium, one thing remained consistent - the booing of MI skipper Hardik Pandya. However, unimpressed with this, RCB batter Virat Kohli signalled to the crowd to stop the negative reception and urged the fans to cheer for their new skipper. The heartwarming gesture from Kohli soon went viral with videos circulating online. In fact, he and Pandya even shared a hug after the game came to an end, with photos also making it to social media.

While the former RCB captain received praise from many for this sweet gesture towards his India teammate, Rohit Sharma fans were unhappy with it, with many questioning why he was interfering in the MI-Pandya vs the Hitman debate when his side was losing games. These debates have led to immense discussions on social media, particularly X (formerly known as Twitter).

As for the clash, while fielding and trying to defend 197, Virat Kohli kept interacting with the fans as he had little to do when the Mumbai batters were sending the balls flying into the stands. MI chased down the total in just 15.3 overs and clinched their second successive win of the season after four losses.

Suryakumar Yadav, who is only playing his second IPL game this year after returning from injury, also smashed 52 in just 19 balls. Captain Hardik Pandya ensured MI raced to the target as he smashed 21 in just six balls, hitting three sixes en route.
