The entire PBKS top order was dismissed back to the pavilion at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh.
Match 33 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Mumbai Indians (MI) witnessed the visiting side's bowlers preventing the home team's batters from settling, taking 4 wickets within 3 overs. Jasprit Bumrah and Gerald Coetzee both claimed two wickets each, with the entire PBKS top order already dismissed back to the pavilion at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh.

It all began with Gerald Coetzee dismissing Prabhsimran Singh for a duck after an expensive over. Ishan Kishan's super dive secured an excellent catch to claim the wicket.
However, the situation took a turn when Jasprit Bumrah was brought in to bowl the second over. On his fourth ball, Bumrah's screamer left Rossouw with no chance to react. The batter was beaten for pace and swing, and the off-stump took a hammering as he departed for 1(3).
Then, on his final ball, Bumrah also sent back stand-in skipper Sam Curran. Despite initially being given a wide, Bumrah believed the ball clipped something on its way, leading to a review. UltraEdge showed a significant spike, confirming Curran's dismissal for 6(7).
In his second over, Gerald Coetzee struck again, dismissing dangerman Liam Livingstone on the first ball. Livingstone, undone by Coetzee's pace, was late on the pull shot, resulting in the ball lobbing back to the bowler. With Livingstone departing for 1(2), PBKS found themselves in a precarious position at 14 for 4.
After the Powerplay's end, PBKS scored 40 runs and lost 4 wickets with Shashank Singh and impact player Harpreet Singh Bhatia at the crease.
In the end, after the stipulated 20 overs, MI tallied a score of 192 runs while losing seven wickets. Contributions came from Ishan Kishan (8 off 8), Rohit Sharma (36 off 25), Suryakumar Yadav (78 off 53), skipper Hardik Pandya (10 off 6), Tim David (14 off 7), Romario Shepherd (1 off 2), and Mohammad Nabi, who was run-out for a duck. Tilak Varma remained unbeaten, scoring 34 off 18 deliveries.
Meanwhile, for PBKS, Harshal Patel clinched three wickets, Sam Curran took two, and Kagiso Rabada chipped in with one wicket.
