The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) had set a monumental total of 277 runs against the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 17th edition of the IPL.
Match 16 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam could have been a clash where the highest IPL total of 277 could have been matched or even broken, but Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) missed it by a whisker as they went on to post 272 runs in their 20 overs against Delhi Capitals (DC).

The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) had set a monumental total of 277 runs at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium against the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 17th edition of the IPL.
As for the clash, it was a literal 2 hours of carnage, which began with Sunil Narine (85 off 39), followed by debutant Angkrish Raghuvanshi (54 off 27), Andre Russell (41 off 19), and Rinku Singh (26 off 8). Surely, it was also 2 hours of torture for the DC bowlers who did not have any answers at the start.
They managed to pull things back just a little, with Anrich Nortje picking three wickets and Ishant Sharma taking 2 in the final over. Khaleel Ahmed and Mitchell Marsh have one each to their name.
Netizens thoroughly enjoyed the game, witnessing the showdown, and many are eager to see if DC can achieve the mammoth total set by KKR.
DC is hosting some of its home games in Vizag because the Arun Jaitley Stadium, which hosted the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024 matches, including the Eliminator and Final, totalling 11 games in 13 days is not ready.
With such extensive usage of the pitches, the ground at the Delhi stadium couldn't be prepared in time for the IPL games, leading to the selection of an alternate venue.
