Since his debut against Punjab Kings (PBKS), Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Mayank Yadav has been the talk of the town for his raw pace. In Match 15 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, he ensured that the discussions continued as he claimed three wickets against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

While this young 21-year-old pacer is earning praise for dismissing Rajat Patidar (29), Glenn Maxwell (0), and Cameron Green (9) and being awarded the Player of the Match, fans couldn't help but recall another young Indian fast bowler, Umran Malik.

Many remembered how some seasons ago, in 2022, Umran Malik was the bowler who had made a name for himself for his speed. Soon, the bowler from Jammu and Kashmir started trending on X (formerly known as Twitter), with many trolling the bowler speaking about his selection even in the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) squad.

RCB vs LSG Highlight:

Discussing this match, RCB needed to secure a victory, especially considering it was their final home game for the time being. However, LSG ensured they got their second consecutive win after their first game loss. The visitors displayed a clinical performance, posting a total of 181 runs. Quinton de Kock's 81, Marcus Stoinis' middle-over cameo of 24, and Nicholas Pooran's 40 in the death overs propelled LSG to a formidable total. For RCB, Glenn Maxwell took two wickets, while Reece Topley, Yash Dayal, and Mohammed Siraj each claimed one.

While defending the total, LSG's Manimaran Siddharth struck first by dismissing the in-form Virat Kohli for 22. Mayank Yadav was introduced into the attack and immediately made an impact. Devdutt Padikkal was a live wire on the field, contributing to several dismissals. Despite Rajat Patidar (29) and Anuj Rawat (11) forming a 36-run partnership, they failed to pose a significant threat. Mahipal Lomror made an impact with a quickfire 33, but his dismissal extinguished any lingering hope of victory. For LSG, barring Mayank Yadav, Naveen-ul-Haq secured two while Manimaran Siddharth, Yash Thakur, and Marcus Stoinis each contributed with one wicket.
