What a second innings it has been by Mumbai Indians (MI) as Rohit Sharma puts on a fiery show against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Match 29 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the Wankhede Stadium. Chasing 207 runs in 20 overs, the 'Hitman' came with intent and has already smashed 77 runs in 49 balls, including 8 fours and 4 maximums.

While the asking rate is still high, fans are expecting a late-ball thriller if Rohit Sharma continues to be at the crease. Many have also taken to X (formerly known as Twitter) to praise the opening batter's performance, with many calling it madness.

As of writing this article, in 16 overs, MI has scored 135 runs and lost 4 wickets. The home side needs 72 runs in 24 balls with Rohit still at the crease and joined by Tim David.

Earlier, for CSK, Ajinkya Rahane (5 off 8) and Rachin Ravindra (21 off 16) fell early, but Ruturaj Gaikwad (69 off 40) and Shivam Dube (66* off 38) lit up the stadium with boundaries. Daryl Mitchell also added runs (17 off 14), but it was Dhoni's explosiveness who came to the crease to face just the final 4 balls and went on to smash 20 runs.
