The 73* between Ayush Badoni and Arshad Khan is the highest 8th-wicket partnership in IPL history.
Not the start Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) had expected after they chose to bat first against Delhi Capitals (DC) in Match 26 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The batting unit fell like a pack of cards and was at 94 for 7 wickets down, but one batter, Ayush Badoni, went on to score a very deserved half-century. LSG has never lost an IPL game when defending 160+, and Badoni got them past that total.

Badoni went on to score 55 off 35, smashing one maximum and five fours, helping take LSG's score to 167. He was well supported by Arshad Khan, who scored 20 off 16 and posted a 73-run partnership, which is the highest 8th-wicket partnership in IPL history.
Earlier in the clash, the home side looked down and out after Khaleel Ahmed and Kuldeep Yadav combined to pick up 5 of the first 7 wickets. Khaleel struck twice in the Powerplay while Kuldeep picked three wickets in his first two overs. At 94/7, it looked like LSG would be bowled out inside 20 overs, but Badoni played sensible cricket along with his partner.
For LSG batters, Quinton de Kock (19) and skipper KL Rahul (39) started well, but wickets soon fell as Devdutt Padikkal (3), Marcus Stoinis (8), Nicholas Pooran (0), Deepak Hooda (10), and Krunal Pandya (3) all departed.
DC bowlers saw Kuldeep Yadav pick three wickets while Khaleel Ahmed picked two. Ishant Sharma and Mukesh Kumar both had one wicket each to their name.
