IPL 2023: Shubman Gill's sister gets harassed after Gujarat Titans opener pushes RCB out of playoffs

After the Gujarat Titans (GT) opener Shubman Gill produced an undefeated century against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to knock them out of the playoff race of the Indian Premier League (IPL), trolls harassed the batter's sister Shahneel Gill online.

As a result of their loss against Gujarat Titans on Sunday at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, RCB were eliminated from the IPL 2023.

Virat Kohli's spectacular hundred (101* off 61) had helped RCB reach 197/5 and in response, Gujarat completed the task in 19.1 overs thanks to Gill's ton which included five fours and eight sixes.

Gill tweeted a picture of his spectacular knock on social media with the phrase "It begins now." His sister Shahneel also commented on the post with the words "My babyyy."

However, her comment was met with several trolls who used expletives and bashed Gill for knocking RCB out.

Not just that, she was even targeted in her last Instagram post as well where people hurled abuse at her and her brother.

As for the clash, RCB needed to win in order to advance to the Playoffs and surpass Mumbai Indians (MI), who had previously defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and reached 16 points.

After 13 games, RCB had 14 points, and a victory would have guaranteed them a position in the playoffs as they had a better Net Run Rate (NRR).

RCB openers Faf du Plessis and Kohli gave their team a wonderful start, however, Rashid Khan (1 wicket) and Noor Ahmad (2 wickets), quickly took three wickets to help their team get back into the game.
