Phil Salt was sold to Delhi Capitals for INR 2 Crore.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 mini-auction in Kochi saw capped wicket-keepers list next and Bangladesh's Litton Das, whoes base price was Rs 50 lakh went unsold. Despite his heroics in the recently concluded T20 World Cup 2022, he remained unsold. The cricketer is currently part of the team playing the 2nd Test against India in Dhaka.
West Indies Nicholas Pooran with a base price Rs 2 crore started a bid war. Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals were on but Lucknow joined in later and saw it cross 10 crore. After some back and forth, Pooran was sold to LSG for INR 16 Crore.
Heinrich Klaasen, who had a base price of Rs 1 crore also saw a bidding war between Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad, but the latter took the cake as the keeper was sold for INR 5.25 Crore.
Next were Kusal Mendis and Tom Banton and both went unsold. But Phil Salt, who was up next, was sold to Delhi Capitals for INR 2 Crore.
