Depending on the outcomes of the final two league games of the IPL 2023, it can be LSG and RCB in the eliminator.
Even though the match on Saturday was between the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), the spectators at Eden Gardens made sure Virat Kohli wasn't forgotten by screaming "Kohli, Kohli" throughout the game.
Chants of "Kohli" greeted the Super Giants, especially when Naveen-ul-Haq entered to bowl. Following the notorious Super Giants verbal altercation with Kohli on May 1 in Lucknow, fans of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batsman were applauded.
After the exciting last-ball victory on Saturday, Naveen-ul-Haq made the same gesture as Virat Kohli by "putting his finger to his lips" in front of the Kolkata crowd.
Despite LSG winning the game, the Eden Gardens crowd continued their chanting and yells.
The LSG mentor gave the audience a death gaze before smirking as Gambhir returned to the dressing room after the game. Ironically, the seasoned Indian batter was a former KKR captain who helped the team win its only two IPL titles.
After Gujarat Titans (GT) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), LSG is the third team to advance to the playoffs. However, they were unable to get into the top two, thus they will compete in the Eliminator.
Depending on the outcomes of the final two league games of the IPL 2023, it can be that LSG and RCB meet in that tie.
