Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who have retired from T20 cricket, will return to represent the country in the 3-match series
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be back for the ODI series
India’s tour of Sri Lanka, which began with a 3-match T20 series that the former swept, it is now time for the start of the ODI series. India will play a 3-match ODI series starting August 2, which will see both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who’d announced their T20 retirement after the World Cup win, back in action. Sharma, in fact, will lead the team, a role he will hold until next year’s Champions Trophy.
India and Sri Lanka will play 3 ODIs at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The matches are scheduled to be held on August 2, 4 and 7, and will start at 2.30 pm (IST).
If you are looking at catching all the cricket action from Colombo live, then Sony Sports Network is where you will find it. The live stream of the matches can also be found on SonyLIV.
One of the major initiatives that Gautam Gambhir as head coach of the Indian cricket team has been advocating is different teams for different formats of the game. Gambhir prefers a younger, more athletic side for the T20s, while the seniors continue to be in the long-format games.

The 15-member squad includes Rohit Sharma (Captain), Ꮪhubman Gill (Vice-captain), Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, Shivam Dube, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Mohammed. Siraj, Washington Sundar, Arshdeep Singh, Riyan Parag, Khaleel Ahmed and Harshit Rana.
