BCCI announced India's squad for the last three Tests vs England and Akash Deep gets his maiden Test call-up for India.
After two games have been done and dusted and the five-match series is levelled at 1-1, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the selection committee have announced India's squad for the remaining three matches against England. Star batter Virat Kohli continues to be unavailable due to personal reasons, while Shreyas Iyer has also been dropped from the squad due to a groin injury.

Regarding Virat Kohli, BCCI stated in the squad selection report, "Virat Kohli will remain unavailable for selection for the remainder of the series due to personal reasons. The Board fully respects and supports Mr. Kohli’s decision."
As for all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul, the two had missed the second Test due to injuries and have been included in the squad, however, their participation is subject to fitness clearance from the BCCI medical team.
On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) pacer Akash Deep has earned his maiden Test call-up for India. The 27-year-old fast bowler had impressed all with his performance against England Lions during an unofficial day's game in Ahmedabad a few days ago.
As for Jasprit Bumrah, despite numerous reports stating that he would be rested for the 3rd game, the bowler will continue to serve as the vice-captain. Mohammed Siraj, who was rested for the 2nd Test, is back in the squad.

As for the Test games, the two sides have a long 10-day gap with the third Test being played on February 15, 2024, in Rajkot. The fourth Test will kickstart in Ranchi from February 23, 2024, while the fifth and final Test of the series will be played in Dharamsala from March 07, 2024.
