IND vs SA - Dean Elgar departs for 12 on final international Test game, gets a hug from Virat Kohli

Dean Elgar concludes his international cricket journey with a final innings! In his last international Test match at Newlands in Cape Town against India, Elgar, entering the clash for South Africa, departed after scoring 12 in the team's second innings.

Facing a good length delivery from round the wicket outside off, Elgar (12) could have left it, but he extended his bat, resulting in an edge. Virat Kohli at first slip comfortably caught the ball.

As the captain walked back to the dressing room in his farewell game, Indian players congratulated him, with Kohli even offering a hug. He even asked the crowd to bow down to the player.

Earlier in the day, Mohammed Siraj showcased a magical bowling spell, displaying swing, seam, and accuracy to secure 6 wickets. Jasprit Bumrah and Mukesh Kumar also chipped in with two wickets each.

However, when India came to bat, a similar storyline unfolded as the Indian batters managed to score only 153 runs, taking a 98-run lead. Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi, and Nandre Burger each claimed three wickets, with one run-out.

In preparation for the 2nd Test against South Africa, Team India made two changes to their playing XI, welcoming back the experienced all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja, into the Test lineup for the ongoing ICC World Test Championship (WTC).
