On the second day of the fifth and final Test match against England, held at the picturesque Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala the Indian fans were treated to two back-to-back centuries. With the Indian captain setting the tone by leading from the front, he notched up a well-deserved century. However, the brilliance doesn't end there, as the young gun Shubman Gill, also joined the three-figure club.

Rohit Sharma's century features an impressive 13 fours and 3 sixes, which he got in 154 balls. Meanwhile, Gill's journey to his century is marked with a boundary as he transitioned from 96 to 100. Gill after facing 141 balls, smashed 10 fours and 5 sixes.

Gill and Rohit have forged an impressive 160-run partnership and show no signs of slowing down. Currently, by lunch, India has scored 264 runs in 60 overs, holding a 46-run lead. Despite the loss of Jaiswal's wicket, the Men in Blue maintained a firm grip on the game.

On Day 1, Yashasvi Jaiswal became the second-fastest Indian batsman to reach 1,000 Test runs, achieving this milestone in just 16 innings.

Before India's innings, England was dismissed for 218 runs, with Kuldeep Yadav claiming a five-wicket haul and R Ashwin securing four wickets in his 100th Test appearance.

Zak Crawley was the lone batter for the Three Lions as he scored 79 runs. Aside from him, no other batter managed to surpass even the 30-run mark. Ben Duckett (27), Joe Root (26), Jonny Bairstow (29), and Ben Foakes (24) were among England's contributors.
