IND vs ENG - R Ashwin gets his 500th Test wicket, fans question Rohit Sharma why he was not brought in early

While fans were cheering for the Test legend, fans were surprised to see that R Ashwin was not brought in to bowl early on.

R Ashwin has proven to be the man who can break records and has now gone on to achieve a milestone as he got his 500th Test wicket. He sent back opener Zak Crawley for 15 runs on Day 2 of the 3rd Test at the now-renamed Niranjan Shah Cricket Stadium in Rajkot.

While fans were cheering for the Test legend, fans were surprised to see that he was not brought in to bowl early on. After 10 overs were done and already 76 runs were scored and Ben Duckett even smashed his half-century, it was shocking how Indian captain Rohit Sharma did not get the spinner to bowl early.

R Ashwin was introduced to bowl in the 11th over, but the two England openers were already set and scoring runs at regular intervals. Fans took to social media to ask why Rohit did not opt for a bowling change.

As for the clash, Day 2 of the game is on with India being all out for 445 runs. Ashwin, Dhruv Jurel, and Jasprit Bumrah resisted well.

Coming into bat, England started the innings at 5/0 as they were given penalty runs after Ashwin had run in the danger area. It was the second such infringement after Ravindra Jadeja had done the same yesterday and received a warning. The last session will be an extended one for the slow over-rate as well.

At the time of writing this article, 14 overs were bowled with England having scored 90 runs and lost one wicket. Ben Duckett has scored 68, while Ollie Pope has come to join the opener at the crease.
