IND vs ENG, 1st Test - Fans ask Shubman Gill to not give them 'heart attack' after he hits ball high in the air

Day 2 of the 1st Test between India and England began with 'Jaisball' coming to an end as Yashasvi Jaiswal was sent back for 80 by Joe Root at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. However, soon after this wicket, Root had another chance of getting the wicket of Shubman Gill as well, as the Indian batter hit the ball high in the air.

Gill came down the pitch, was badly undone by the flight, and got a big leading edge on the drag flick. The ball soared high over mid-on, but England's captain, Ben Stokes, stationed at mid-on, failed to spot the ball and couldn't react in time, allowing the chance to slip away. Despite the mistimed shot, the ball landed in no man's land.

Commentators, including Harsha Bhogle, emphasized that this was a missed opportunity, as England could have secured two crucial wickets on the morning of the second day.

Netizens soon took to social media, particularly X (formerly known as Twitter) to tell Gill to not give them a 'heart attack' with such risky shots.

Before that, England, who had won the toss, opted to bat and posted 246 runs before being all out. England skipper Ben Stokes, who reached his half-century, posed a challenge to the Men in Blue, but his innings was halted at 70 by Jasprit Bumrah. R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja took three wickets each, while Axar Patel and Jasprit Bumrah had two, disrupting the visitors' batting lineup.
