After the heartbreak of the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023 Final, the Indian cricket team aimed to uplift the spirits of their fans by securing victory in the five-match series against Australia. Their mission was accomplished as they sealed the series 3-1 after winning the fourth game.

This triumph holds special significance as it marks Suryakumar Yadav's inaugural series victory as captain, leading a young Indian side.

In the match, Australia, having posted 174 runs and losing 9 wickets, witnessed a fiery start with Travis Head dominating the powerplay. However, the introduction of Ravi Bishnoi proved pivotal as he broke the partnership by dismissing Josh Philippe for 8 runs.

Despite Travis Head's efforts to stabilize the innings, Axar Patel claimed his wicket at 31. Subsequently, Axar Patel and Deepak Chahar took crucial wickets, limiting Australia's progress. Despite Skipper Matthew Wade's resilient unbeaten 36 off 23 balls, India secured victory by 20 runs.

In the first innings, India's Yashasvi Jaiswal (37) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (32) provided a solid foundation. However, Shreyas Iyer's brief stint (8 runs) and Suryakumar Yadav's early dismissal added pressure.

Rinku Singh (46) and Jitesh Sharma (35) formed a substantial partnership, with Singh displaying aggressive strokes. However, after Sharma's departure, the lower-order batsmen struggled.

Axar Patel and Deepak Chahar were dismissed for ducks, while Ravi Bishnoi was run out for 4. Avesh Khan remained not out for 1 as India set a target of 175 for Australia.
