The anthem also includes choreographer Dhanashree Verma, and other Instagram and YouTube influencers.
On Wednesday (September 20), the International Cricket Council (ICC) unveiled the official anthem for the 2023 ODI World Cup, scheduled to commence in India on October 5. Titled 'Dil Jashn Bole,' the anthem prominently features Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh and the music was crafted by an acclaimed composer in the Bollywood industry, Pritam.

Additionally, the anthem also includes choreographer Dhanashree Verma, who happens to be the spouse of Indian leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and other Instagram and YouTube influencers. With a duration of three minutes and twenty-two seconds, the anthem takes viewers on a journey through India, known as the 'One Day Express.'
Music composer Pritam said the song is aimed to invite the world to come and celebrate the cricket extravaganza. "Cricket is India's greatest passion and composing 'Dil Jashn Bole' for the biggest World Cup ever, has been a tremendous honour for me. This song is not just for 1.4 billion Indian fans but for the whole world to come to India and be a part of the biggest celebration ever," he said.
ICC, about the anthem, said, "The music video encapsulates the emotions of the global fan community, uniting nations and fans across different cultures. The fan-centric anthem represents an epic celebration, designed to resonate with hearts and ignite spirits. The anthem embodies the World Cup combining the unique Indian passion for cricket with the national pride of all competing nations to create an unrivalled global sporting occasion".
Despite the ICC's efforts, the song faced a chilly reception from fans on social media. The cricket board faced substantial criticism for not managing to resonate with cricket enthusiasts as effectively as the anthems of prior editions, such as the 2011 and 2015 World Cups. The 2011 World Cup anthem, titled "De Ghumake," was composed by Shankar Mahadevan. Some even went on to call this year's song, the 'worst anthem ever'.
The World Cup will kick off with defending champions England facing New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. India, on the other hand, will initiate their campaign against the five-time champions Australia on October 8, with the match taking place at the Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
This year's tournament will feature a total of 10 participating teams. Each team will compete against each other and the top four teams will secure their spots in the semi-finals.
