Harmanpreet Kaur speaks out on 'pathetic umpiring' vs Bangladesh, expresses disappointment

The 3-match ODI series between India Women and Bangladesh Women concluded in a draw, with the final game ending in a thrilling tie. However, Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur did not hold back her disappointment regarding certain umpiring decisions made during the match. After the game, she spoke openly about her concerns with the officiating.

She said, "I think a lot of learning for us from the game. Even apart from the cricket, the kind of umpiring that was happening we were very surprised. The next time we come to Bangladesh we will make sure we have to deal with this type of umpiring and prepare ourselves accordingly".

She also added, "In between we leaked a few runs but we controlled the game very well when we were batting, but as I mentioned earlier some pathetic umpiring was done we are really disappointed about some decisions given by the umpires".

As for the clash. it was deadlocked at 1-1, making this match a decider for the coveted trophy, but destiny had different plans.

Smriti Mandhana (59), Harleen Deol (77), and Jemimah Rodrigues (33*) played crucial roles in India's pursuit of Bangladesh's 225-run total.

In the earlier innings, India stumbled from a comfortable 191 for five in the 42nd over to 217 for nine in the 48th over. However, the last-wicket pair of Jemimah Rodrigues and Meghna Singh displayed incredible resilience, inching India closer to victory.

With just one run needed to win off the last four balls, Marufa Akter dismissed Meghna for six, sparking dissatisfaction among the Indian batters over the decision.
