Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff among those headed into Round 2 at Roland Garros

On Day 4 of the French Open 2024, the Grand Slam has already moved on to the second round in the men’s and women’s singles. Over May 29 and May 30, the second-round matches will be played across the courts at Roland Garros. Since Monday, rain has occasionally interrupted matches in the outside courts, but the tournament is still on schedule.

French Open 2024: Women’s singles Round 1 winners list

Among the major matches of Day 4 and the start of round 2 is World No 1 Iga Swiatek’s match against Naomi Osaka. Swiatek is eyeing a fourth French Open win while Osaka is on a comeback since welcoming her first child in July 2023. The duo has played each other twice, with each winning one match a piece.

Also playing on Day 4 is 2019 US Open Winner Bianca Andreescu, who will take on Anna Kalinskaya, Danielle Collins vs Olga Danilovic, Coco Gauff vs Tamara Zidanšek, among others.

In the men’s singles second round, Carlos Alcaraz and Stefanos Tsitsipas booked third round passes, with a bunch of matches currently suspended owing to inclement weather. Later tonight, Stan Wawrinka plays Pavel Kotov. Defending champion Novak Djokovic’s Round 2 match is on May 30.
