It’s day 3 of the French Open 2024 in Roland Garros; 20 first round matches, including that of defending champion Novak Djokovic are yet to be played. But based on the results so far, a tentative lineup for Round 2 has begun to emerge. 14-time champion Rafael Nadal lost his first-round encounter to Alexander Zverev, in a match that is widely considered his last at the clay court Grand Slam. Nadal has not ruled out a comeback next year, but for now, his return to Roland Garros will be for the 2024 Olympics.

Quite a few of the second-round matches have been decided, although the final schedule is yet to be determined. For instance, on May 29, Wednesday, Stefanos Tsitsipas will play Daniel Altmeier, Stan Wawrinka vs Pavel Kotov, Hubert Hurkacz vs Brandon Nakashima, Carlos Alcaraz vs Jesper De Dong and Tommy Paul vs Fabio Fognini, among others.
