India's top badminton players PV Sindhu, Lakshya Sen, Kidambi Srikanth, along with doubles pairs Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty and Treesa Jolly-Pullela Gayatri Gopichand have all progressed to the second round of the French Open Badminton Championship 2024 at Arena de la Chapelle in the French capital.

In India, live coverage of the French Open 2024 badminton tournament will be broadcast on the Sports 18 channel. Additionally, it will be available for streaming on the Jio Cinema app and the Badminton World Federation (BWF) YouTube channel.

Kidambi Srikanth vs Lu Guang Zu (around 4:40 PM IST)

PV Sindhu vs BW Zhang - (around 4:50 PM IST)

Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty vs Man Wei Chong and Tee Kai Wun (around 6:30 PM IST)

Yuki Fukushima and Sayaka Hirota vs Tressa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand (around 5:50 PM IST)

Li Shifeng vs Lakshya Sen (around 7:10 PM IST)

About each clash:

Sindhu faced former World No. 8 Michelle Li and managed to secure a come-from-behind victory with scores of 20-22, 22-20, 21-19 in a match lasting an hour and 20 minutes. Her next opponent will be USA's BW Zhang.

Kidambi Srikanth also advanced to the men's singles second round with a remarkable win over Chinese Taipei's Chou Tien Chen, with scores of 21-15, 20-22, 21-8 in a 66-minute match. He will face China's world No. 17 Lu Guang Zu in the next round.

Meanwhile, Lakshya Sen emerged victorious against Japan's Kanta Tsuneyama, with scores of 15-21, 21-15, 21-3 in a 55-minute match. He will now compete against China's Li Shifeng in the next round.

In men's doubles, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty defeated the Malaysian pair of Ong Yew Sin and Teo Ee Yi in straight games with scores of 21-13, 24-22. They will face another Malaysian pair, Man Wei Chong and Tee Kai Wun, in the next round.

In women's doubles, the Indian pair of Tressa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand overcame Indian compatriots Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Crasto in a hard-fought three-game match, with scores of 16-21, 21-19, 21-17, to reach Round 2. They will now face Japan's Yuki Fukushima and Sayaka Hirota.

The ongoing French Open BWF Super 750 tournament also doubles as a test event for the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics. The matches are being held at the Arena Porte de la Chapelle, which is slated to be the venue for badminton events for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
