F1 2025 drivers’ grid: From Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari, Sergio Perez’s exit from Red Bull to new F2 inclusions, here’s who will be on the starting block in the F1 2025 season

It’s been more than a month since the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) announced the calendar for the 2025 F1 season. Set to start in March, the new season will see some driver shuffle ups, and a few new faces making their debuts. While the drivers’ grid seemed more or less in place at the time, there’ve been further changes since then. Like, for instance, Sergio Perez’s exit from Red Bull Racing and Isack Hadjar’s inclusion for Racing Bulls.
As per the final grid, only two teams, McLaren (Norris and Piastri) and Aston Martin (Alonso and Stroll) have the same set of drivers as they did in 2024. While Hamilton’s move to Ferrari is the most anticipated, the question now is whether he will be the Number 2 driver for the Constructor. If he is, it will be a first for the much-decorated driver.
The surprise change, of course, came when Perez announced his exit from Red Bull Racing, although his contract included the 2026 season. His lack of form is cited as the reason that the Constructor was unable to defend its title. He was 8th in the drivers’ standings – 285 points behind team mate and champion Max Verstappen.
Live telecast of Formula 1 in India will continue to be on FanCode, the official streaming partner of F1 until the end of 2025.
