Max Verstappen will hope for a much better race in Canada than he had in Monaco

The Monaco Grand Prix was the first that Max Verstappen was not on the podium this season. At the street circuit race just under a fortnight ago, Verstappen was placed sixth in qualifying, after he hit the wall on his final lap and was unable to improve on his timings, allowing Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc to take pole position and win the race as well. After 8 races this season, Verstappen still leads the drivers’ championship with 169 points. Leclerc is not far behind at 138 points.

Verstappen has won 5 of the 8 races this season, with a podium finish in a sixth. Monaco was the only misstep so far, so he will look at rectifying that and extending his points lead over Leclerc. The 2024 F1 calendar began in Bahrain in February, followed by Saudi Arabia, Australia, Japan, China, Miami, Rome and Monaco. After Canada, the championship heads to Spain, Austria and the UK in consecutive weekends. The season has 24 races in all and will end in December in Abu Dhabi.

The race will be held on June 9 at 11.30 pm (IST), with the practice sessions and Qualifying slated for May 7 and 8. All the sessions can be streamed live on FanCode with OTTplay Premium. Enjoy 23 OTTs like SonyLIV, Zee5, Fancode, Lionsgateplay & 19 more OTTs and 250+ Live TV Channels at just ₹75.

Held at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, the Canadian Grand Prix circuit length is 4.361 km that drivers will cover for 70 laps, for a total of 305.270 km.
