Big Cricket League: When and where to watch inaugural edition of T20 tournament featuring amateur and professional cricketers
Big Cricket League - where professional cricketers meet aspiring players/fans

If the Indian Premier League brought international players from across the world to play scintillating games of cricket in India, and the Celebrity Cricket League made cricketers out of film stars, the latest will have former international players from India and the rest of the world rub shoulders with anyone with a love for the game and a fair handle on how to play it. The Big Cricket League, which is set to kick off with its first edition shortly, brings together amateur cricketers and professionals in a T20 tournament.

Six teams will be a part of the inaugural edition of the tournament, each of which was allowed to draft 6 former international cricketers, 6 former Indian first-class cricketers and 10 amateurs. The amateurs were chosen from a pool of shortlisted candidates who were put through a 3-day selection camp, which included training & net sessions, fielding sessions, physical fitness testing and a minimum of 2 selection matches.

The first edition of the Big Cricket League will be held from December 11 to December 21 in Surat, with two matches per day. The matches will be streamed live on Sony LIV. The six teams - Northern Challengers, UP Brij Stars, Rajasthan Regals, MP Tigers, Mumbai Marines and Southern Spartans – play 5 matches each, with the top 4 proceeding to the semi-finals.
