RCB vs LSG

What is wrong with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)? The side has lost another game in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at home - the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. After a quick start by Virat Kohli, the side lost Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell within the Powerplay against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Match 15.

Soon after, a flurry of wickets fell at regular intervals, and the side was all-out for 153 in 19.4 overs, becoming the first team this season to be bowled out. RCB's performance angered fans, who took to social media, particularly X (formerly known as Twitter), to troll the team.

RCB vs LSG Highlight:

The visitors delivered a clinical performance, especially with the bat after losing the toss and capitalizing on the opportunity. LSG posted an above-par total of 181 runs on a two-paced pitch while RCB bowlers also had their moments. But Quinton de Kock's 81, Marcus Stoinis' cameo of 24 in the middle overs, and Nicholas Pooran's 40 in the death overs propelled LSG past the 180-run mark.

Glenn Maxwell took two wickets for RCB, while Reece Topley, Yash Dayal, and Mohammed Siraj each took one.

In the second innings, LSG commenced with two left-arm spinners against skipper Faf du Plessis and Kohli. Manimaran Siddharth initiated well, bowling quickly and maintaining tight lines, but the RCB openers adjusted and struck three boundaries consecutively. However, Siddharth celebrated after dismissing the in-form Kohli for 22.

Subsequently, the highly-discussed bowler Mayank Yadav was brought into the attack and made an immediate impact. Devdutt Padikkal showcased his agility on the field, contributing to several dismissals. Rajat Patidar (29) and Anuj Rawat (11) built a 36-run partnership but never posed a significant threat to LSG. Impact player Mahipal Lomror made an impact unleashing a quickfire 33, but his dismissal saw the tiny hope of victory vanquish.

Mayank Yadav claimed three wickets, while Naveen-ul-Haq secured two. Manimaran Siddharth, Yash Thakur, and Marcus Stoinis each chipped in with one wicket.
