Afghanistan vs Ireland

Following the one-off red-ball encounter, the focus will switch to white-ball cricket as Afghanistan is all set to host Ireland in a series of six limited-overs matches. The action kicks off with a three-match ODI series in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) over the next six days.

The ODI series between Afghanistan and Ireland is scheduled to take place at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, with Indian fans able to catch the matches on the FanCode app.

About the AFG vs IRE series:

Led by Hashmatullah Shahidi, Afghanistan, will be without senior spinners Rashid Khan and Mujeeb Ur Rahman, both recovering from back surgery and a right phalanx sprain, respectively. In their absence, Allah Mohammad Ghazanfar - who was part of the ICC U19 Men's Cricket World Cup 2024 - has earned a maiden call-up alongside left-arm spinner Nangyal Kharoti.

As for Ireland, under the leadership of Paul Stirling, the side has included uncapped seamer Matthew Foster and will also feature players like Theo van Woerkom, Craig Young, and Barry McCarthy, all of whom made their Test debuts last week.

This will mark the eighth bilateral ODI series between the two nations and the second in Sharjah. The last time the two sides met was in 2017 when Ireland emerged victorious with a 2-1 series win.
